A new CD by St Helens singer songwriter Mark Hickman
Songs inspired by boats, the sea
and our wonderful local surroundings
It was my friend Karen Tweed who suggested that I should have a go at writing some songs.
Here is the result - a collection of songs composed while out walking my Airedale terrier.
Never written down until all the words were finally in place the dog had to put up with me
searching for rhymes and singing verses (without the guitar of course) over and over to get
them right. To give her her due she never appeared to mind! Born close to where I now live,
the sea has played a major part in almost everything I do and have ever done. It is a never-
ending source of inspiration and this is clearly reflected in many of these songs.
